Who are we?

Asociación para el Desarrollo Sostenible en San José del Este is a collaboration between various organizations in the region. As a team, we address key issues for the sustainable and orderly development of the region, seeking to form alliances with the government and working with neighborhood, local, and business organizations.

Our work focuses on promoting projects and initiatives that contribute positively to the communities of La Playa, La Choya, San Vicente, and Las Ánimas.

Our Mission

The mission of the Asociación para el Desarrollo Sostenible en San José del Este, is to actively promote orderly and sustainable development in the communities of La Playa, La Choya, San Vicente, and Las Ánimas in partnership with various stakeholders in the region: neighborhood, local, and business organizations.

Through this coordination, we seek to promote, propose, and implement a shared sustainable agenda, as well as various programs, projects, and strategies that will contribute to social, economic, and environmental prosperity in the region.

Why do we need to protect this region?

There are unique conditions in the region to trigger exemplary social, economic, environmental, and cultural development:

  1. Unique ecosystem with great biodiversity.

  2. There are local communities with a strong sense of identity and social belonging.

  3. Location: Close to San José del Cabo and its airport.

  4. The region generates stable and well-paid jobs.

  5. There are safe conditions for communities and their national and international visitors.

General Objectives

1. Integration and Coordination of Organizations: Establish a formal network that facilitates cooperation and the exchange of ideas, focusing on the creation of initiatives that benefit the tourist region and its local communities.

2. Development of a Shared Strategic Agenda: Create an agenda that reflects the needs and aspirations of neighborhood and business organizations in the region, integrating diverse perspectives and promoting collaborative approaches to sustainable development.

3. Creation of Inclusive Dialogue Spaces: Organize forums where social and business organizations can express their opinions and concerns, ensuring that all voices are heard and that active participation in decision-making is encouraged.

4. Development of Joint Initiatives and Best Practices: Create platforms for sharing success stories and best practices in sustainability, as well as implement collaborative projects that address needs that strengthen the community fabric.

5. Education and Awareness About Sustainability: Implement training and awareness programs for organizations and the community on sustainable practices, fostering a culture of social and environmental responsibility.
